The trail of light in this image from the boys t-shirt is my favourite part in the composition of the shot, the brightness of the yellow loos neon and glowing. I like the actual main subject of the image also as he looks fairly over exposed giving quite an arty documentary type shot, the exposure had to be strong in order to capture the slow sync effect.
This image shows a good use of slow sync, the couple are standing against a dark blue backdrop, the block colours they are wearing like red, blue and grey contrast nicely with the background. They have some type of light source and are drawing shapes in the air around their bodies. The heart is cool as it shows they're relationship, connotes love. It is overall a clever technique used in slow sync.
The slow sync is not as strong in this image there is a little bit of light leak in the shot from the passing vehicle on the road next to the woman, but that is all. The overexposed effect on the subject of the woman makes her bright and illuminated, meaning that she is automatically the main subject of the piece, against the dark backdrop of the few lights of the vehicle and road.
This one of my favourites of the images, I like how the bottom half of the image is dark and the top half is light with a storage blue, green tinge. The main subject is in both parts, but illuminated, the use of slow sync is on the left of the woman, it looks as though it is just a public light in the distance of the backdrop, however it is a continuous line of movement, so is confusing as to how it was made. The whole shot is very interesting to look at and intriguing as to how it was made.
This image depicts a busy, bustling, bright scene in a town/city. The main subject is blowing bubbles, the light from the camera, not only illuminates the man but also the bubbles going a surreal uplifting effect. The light in the backdrop from the buildings and shop stalls are the light traces in the slow sync part of the shot. I like how the image captures the overall atmosphere of the place and subject.
Hi George as discussed with you there are areas of your work that need to be developed further I have highlighted that there are spelling and grammatical errors within the document, which whilst you have changed some of them there are further errors that need to be addressed. With regards to the content of the blogger you are making relevant analyses of the image in terms of connotation, denotation and context... with regards to the context "background information" you will need to find information through research of the photographer either on-line or in books. By researching a "known" photographer you will be able to identify some good contextual information by Google searching e.g. Simon Wheatley "don't call me urban..."by doing this you will be able to understand more about the photographers intentions from people who have already researched his work this is called secondary research. Should you do this you might be able to raise your grade as currently the level of your research is at C. Please reflect on the exercise we did on the photographer Mendel Grossman where you were provided with a link and the information within the link helped you to gain a better understanding of the photographer. You need to this yourself but this time its your job to find suitable information on the photographer through independent research.
