Slow Sync Image Bank

The trail of light in this image from the boys t-shirt is my favourite part in the composition of the shot, the brightness of the yellow loos neon and glowing. I like the actual main subject of the image also as he looks fairly over exposed giving quite an arty documentary type shot, the exposure had to be strong in order to capture the slow sync effect.

This image shows a good use of slow sync, the couple are standing against a dark blue backdrop, the block colours they are wearing like red, blue and grey contrast nicely with the background. They have some type of light source and are drawing shapes in the air around their bodies. The heart is cool as it shows they're relationship, connotes love. It is overall a clever technique used in slow sync.

The slow sync is not as strong in this image there is a little bit of light leak in the shot from the passing vehicle on the road next to the woman, but that is all. The overexposed effect on the subject of the woman makes her bright and illuminated, meaning that she is automatically the main subject of the piece, against the dark backdrop of the few lights of the vehicle and road.

This one of my favourites of the images, I like how the bottom half of the image is dark and the top half is light with a storage blue, green tinge. The main subject is in both parts, but illuminated, the use of slow sync is on the left of the woman, it looks as though it is just a public light in the distance of the backdrop, however it is a continuous line of movement, so is confusing as to how it was made. The whole shot is very interesting to look at and intriguing as to how it was made.

This image depicts a busy, bustling, bright scene in a town/city. The main subject is blowing bubbles, the light from the camera, not only illuminates the man but also the bubbles going a  surreal uplifting effect. The light in the backdrop from the buildings and shop stalls are  the light traces in the slow sync part of the shot. I like how the image captures the overall atmosphere of the place and subject.

Blur Image Bank

The colour in this image is really effective in showing blur, as the moving subject caught in the image is the red car, this really helps to draw in viewers attention, and distance the blur from the very clear static shot of the backdrop of buildings. The photo has a very old feel, perhaps it is an old film shot that has been edited to put colour into the car, giving the shot a new lease of life. The contrast is most strong in the backdrop with all the different tones of the houses, this is emphasised by the fact its in black and white, the red car also contrasts strongly because of how eye catching the colour is, in comparison to the rest of the shot.

In the shot, the backdrop is out of focus opposed to the subject being the man on the bike, The interesting parts of the picture are the parts of light exposure in the shot, the yellow/orange light is really strong and eye catching, it looks as though it could have captured the lights on a car as it passed by in part of the image. The red mac that the man is wearing helps to automatically draw attention to the subject, as the rest of the shot is out of focus and quite bland in colour.

All the lights from the cars in the backdrop of this image is blurred in the distance, this gives a very dreamy effect of yellows and white spheres In the distance, this is done by the photographer focusing only on the glass cola bottle, the cola bottle is also very effective as because its transparent it lets light through, giving a cool effect, as we are able to see the same lights in the backdrop as we can through the main subject. The overall colour is very aesthetically pleasing, as there are lots of different elements to the composition.

The use of long exposure in this image creates a blur of colour brought about by the movement of cars on the road, the effect is simple and yet beautiful, the fact that the image has been created at might with a bright sunset helps to contrast and make the picture become even more vibrant. The curve shows the movement of the cars and direction that they take on the road.

This image is different as the whole picture is blurred, it is overall very eery, the atmosphere is spiritual and forboding. Part of the light in the tunnels is turquoise, this is really pretty, the over light that is let in to the arches helps contrast against the shadow and overall darkness of the image. The positioning of where the image has been taken fro makes the viewer feel as thought they are in the scene, viewing what is witnessed in the image.

Multiple Flash Image Bank

The effect of multiple arms from the multiple flash setting is really effective, the main body of the woman is a little out of focus but her face is totally in focus, she has stayed almost perfectly still apart from the movement of her arms, this is how the effect is created. For every movement with her arms she has rotated her wrist in the opposite direction giving an almost religious feel to the image, she covers a 360 degree radius.

The multiple flash in this image captures a woman in a leotard taking a long lunge or step, the frame is effective as it emphasises the distance she covers. I like how the movements overlap, how many times the subject has been captured in this image, really fills the whole shot showing every little movement making up the whole lunge.

This image details the changes in facial expression, the man contorts his face in to all a manner of shapes and expressions. I like how the multiple flash means that at each shoulder his bodies overlap giving the sense thatches one body, showing the adverse of feelings humans ares capable of, making him seem manic and changing, this is definitely an art shot.

The colour of the sky in the backdrop of the image helps to merge with the skater as he is wearing a similar coloured t-shirt of blue, this also contrasts with the purple sky, due to the vibrance of the colour of the sky the multiple flash seems to create each individual snap of the skater as almost white washed, this gives a cool effect merging the colours of the subject and the backdrop together.

Unlike the last images this is of a man moving closer to the camera, making for two pictures of the subject further away from the camera and of course appearing smaller, this gives an interesting effect, I also like the overexposed look of the images, this is due to how close the man is to the camera and the fact that it has been taken inside a house. The colour sod what he is wearing and the walls match and contrast in the same sort of colours, the setting gives a very nostalgic feeling to the shot.

Multiple Exposure Image Bank

This is a very interesting photo as it has many different elements to it, the second exposure of the landscape has more than one element to it, as it has a church and the limbs of tree branches, I like the space and wryness, this creates the different shapes forming hide body parts, e.g. the church being the main structure of his face, the limbs of the tree, the shape of his shoulders and head, this helps to just give general outline, lacking the depth and detail needed in the background of his face since that was the other exposure.

Image result for multiple exposure photography

I like this as there are three different exposures, the outline of the women on a side profile, the only definition of the woman that you can make out is the jaw line, nose, lips, neck, shoulders and forehead. The second exposure is very effective as it is very feminine and beautiful conveying depth of subject and I love the way the Blossom tree grows out the back of her head the same way her hair would be if it was up in real life. The third exposure is a very white washed, unclear blossom tree and pink tinged background, this adds different layers instead of it just being on a white background.

This image depicts an old man on a side profile shot, with the exposure of branches and limbs of a tree, the image connotes old age, the symbolism is very interesting as trees are sometimes hundreds of years old and are seen as the wisdom of nature, and like an old person they have lived long and are generally very wise, also in terms of imagery, like the bark on a tree it is very heavy lined like the wrinkles people have in old age, it's interesting how the tree looks quite sparse in terms of leaves, This could symbolise the man's in his last days and is dying like the tree.

Urban is the key theme in this piece, the top half of the boys head is just an industrial site building in process, showing the urban mindset, and how where you live shapes your perspective and identity, aka like how dark and eery the image is, at the bottom half of the image, the boys shoulders and upper body, have an exposure of the suburbs; buildings and trees, it helps to the depressing, trapped vibe of the shot.

This image has lots of different layers and components to it, for example the other exposure which is in the main subject toeing the man, has part of the image coming out into the backdrop appearing to show where the man is standing when the image is taken. I really love this effect as it gives a new found sense of life to the picture, making the birds look as though they are actually real. The light in the second exposure within the subject helps with the overall darkness of the shot adding contrast and draw your eyes in, the birds are the punctum and help to make this an interesting shot.

Low Key Lighting Image Bank

This low key lighting glamour shoot encapsulates the setup of the lighting when this type of a shoot is required, the two lights in the background help to bring out the models figure, and  illuminate parts  of his face without revealing too much of the subject IE facial features, adding shadow and diversity in focus points. The out line of the figure is most noticeable in the image, focusing mainly on the muscular tone and body the model has, drawing the viewers attention to those parts.

This image has a lot of  shadow and depth of field due to the Low key lighting used in the shot, this helps to reveal and focus in only certain parts of the subject to the viewer, In this shot it is especially drawing in the subjects upper left side, in order to create this, the set producer would of had to position the light accordingly to bring attention to these parts. The darkness is cast on the subjects facial features and body, this is often used as a technique in glamour to give a romantic atmosphere and a flattering perception of  the model.

The thought behind this image is really interesting, the fact that someone is holding the baby in a single arm, the black t-shirt they are wearing helps to disappear into the back drop and only add block tone, there is little contrast, the skin tone colour all merges into one apart from the silhouette that the baby makes on the mans arm, The shot connotes, new life, love, maturity and perception. The baby being naked shows it in its true, natural form the way that God supposedly intended, showing the innocence in all of creation.

The main themes of this shot are beauty, femininity and the naked body, The direction of light is really interesting in this picture as it appears as the though light is faced down towards to the models face, and that she is staring up into it, it gives the effect that someone is looking down at her and she is covering her naked body in attempt to cover herself from the viewer. The shadow and dark spots in the shot are created from the downwards position of the light and her attempt to cover up. Where the light hits different parts more stronger than others, it helps to add contrast and definition Eg, her face and her left arm.

The low key lighting in this shot, helps to only bring out the brightness of the geese and nothing else in the shot, I particularly like the subtle reflection in the water and the difference you can see between the shiny surface of the water, the glowing colour of the geese and the sky. The ones in the sky are just as bright and if not even more striking as they are very clear and dynamic. The frame and angle of the image is really effective as it is very even and only captures interesting elements, not creating too much dark space, the angle is also at a very low level giving the viewer a good perspective of the scene.
